Climate change, scarcity of resources, dwindling biodiversity or even the current population dynamics as well as people's consumption behavior require a rethink. In 2015, the UN adopted the 2030 Agenda. In it: 17 sustainable development goals that are intended to ensure and promote sustainability. The goals focus on poverty, food and drinking water, health, education, gender equality, energy, work, sustainable development, environmental and climate protection and peace. But how can tourism and explicitly socialbnb contribute to these goals? That is what we are clarifying today.
A socialbnb is an accommodation with impact. Every overnight stay supports a social or ecological project. If you have chosen an accommodation on our platform, then the price selected by the project will flow into that. In the night from July 14 to 15, 2021, a devastating flood hit large areas of Rhineland-Palatinate and North Rhine-Westphalia after extreme storms. Within hours, the waters of many rivers and streams rose, even reaching levels of an incredible 7 to 8 meters in some areas - nearly five meters above the worst flood to date in 2016. A recognized 55.1 hectare nature reserve, Chumbe Island is home to a fully protected coral reef and a closed forest reserve.
