    FLOOD RELIEF IN THE FLOODED AREA – WE MET DACHZELTNOMADEN

    In the night from July 14 to 15, 2021, a devastating flood hit large areas of Rhineland-Palatinate and North Rhine-Westphalia after extreme storms. Within hours, the waters of many rivers and streams rose, even reaching levels of an incredible 7 to 8 meters in some areas - nearly five meters above the worst flood to date in 2016. We invited the relief organization of Roof Tent Nomads to share more about their activities and efforts.     Impact News: We were able to generate USD 3,570.00 through overnight stays on our socialbnb platform for the Chumbe Island Coral Park project in Tanzania. What can be implemented on site with this money and what Chumbe Island actually contributes to environmental conservation, you can find out here. Chumbe Island is an uninhabited island just off Zanzibar. It is also the world's first financially self-sustaining marine protected area. A recognized 55.1 hectare nature reserve, Chumbe Island is home to a fully protected coral reef and a closed forest reserve.
